The Birth of House and Electro: Back to the 80s
Saturday 10 August 2019
If it’s not 1980s, you won’t hear it! House Music took over almost every club on the planet in the 1990s but the underground scene began in clubs dedicated to hunting down the biggest tunes as far back as the 1970s with its roots coming from Hip Hop and what became known as Electro.
Here’s just a handful of nightclubs across the globe which were responsible for the explosion of dance music through the 1980s along with the years they opened – Quadrant Park 1988, Shoom 1987, Space 1986, Danceteria 1984, Hacienda 1982, Wag Club 1982, Fridge 1981, Fun House 1979, Heaven 1979, Ku Club 1978, Roxy 1978, Warehouse 1977, Amnesia 1976, Paradise Garage 1976, Pacha 1973.
Whether you were there in the 80s or not, you’re gonna dance your socks off to the biggest House & Electro Anthems that shook dancefloors with DJs Mutant Movement & Anton Raphael on the decks from 11pm til 4am, you’ll be getting in after sunrise, just like you were in Ibiza!
Although there are tons of Massive Anthems from the 90s, this event is strictly 1980s so please don’t expect anything post 1989, they’ll have to wait for a future event!
